Come experience a golfing adventure of a life-time! In 10 days you will play 6 different golf courses across South Africa’s east coast. Spend 2 days traveling and sight-seeing, stopping over at Shayamoya Dam. Then move onto the Kruger National Park to have your safaris and in between play an unforgettable round at the Skukuza Golf course in amongst the BIG 5! These tours were designed with the hard core golfer in mind, but with so many attractions why not bring the family? This is golfing at its most extreme …………….
Day 1

We will pick you up at Durban International airport and transport you down the coast to the Umtumvuna Gorge and nature reserve. Take your time to settle in and get acquainted with your surroundings, maybe take a short walk down to the river? That evening we will go to the top of the gorge to have sundowners on the boardwalk and realise you have arrived in Africa! Return to your accommodation for a welcome dinner out on the balcony.
Accommodation:
You will be accommodated at Vuna Valley Venture a beautiful B & B set into the hillside of the gorge, a mere 100 meters from the nature reserve and river.
Day 2

Wake to the smell of fresh coffee and a sizzling breakfast as you prepare for your first challenge. Cross over the river into the old ‘Transkei’, a homeland set aside for the African population during apartheid, which for many years was not governed by SA law. Therefore when laws prohibiting gambling within SA were passed, developers crossed the river to build the ‘Wild Coast Casino and Resort’ where these laws did not apply. This is the location of your first challenging round of golf. Once you’ve landed that eagle, return to Vuna to freshen up before returning to the casino for supper (own account) and a night out!
Accommodation:
Vuna Valley Ventures.
Day 3

Start this day much like the day before, after breakfast travel a short distance to play San Lameer Golf Course an immaculate course set on a housing estate. We now move locations to a small coastal town about 30 minutes north. Once settled, take a drive down to the beach to enjoy the coastal atmosphere. Supper will be served at the hotel where you will be staying.
Accommodation:
You will be accommodated at Selbourne Golf Estate and Spa, a lovely hotel set amongst the coastal bush, with amazing gardens to take a stroll in.
Day 4

Take in a leisurely breakfast as you will be playing Selbourne itself, so no travelling today. Spend the day having a round of golf at this magnificent course and then sit back and relax as the rest takes care of its self. In the evening go out to town for supper (own expense) and see how things move at their own pace in these quaint holidays towns.
Accommodation:
Selbourne Hotel
Day 5

Today you play a less well known course, Umdoni. As far as we are concerned this is the jewel of the South Coast, a challenging course, well kept and with sea views that are unrivalled. We guarantee you will love this course, a real diamond in the ROUGH (so to speak). Spend the afternoon having sundowners at the clubhouse which has the most spectacular 180 degree sea view, before you return to Selbourne for dinner.
Accommodation:
Selbourne
Day 6

Have a relatively early breakfast as today your exploration of South Africa really begins! We travel north, past the city of Durban and follow the coast line north into Zululand. Watch how the landscape changes to natural bush and rolling hills, we stop in at Shaka Land to visit a traditional Zulu village and have lunch. The Zulu people are the indigenous people to this area and have ruled these lands for centuries. After learning a bit about these amazing people we continue our journey north ending at Shayamoya Lodge on the Jozini Dam. Have sundowners from the lodge balcony over-looking the entire river valley.
Accommodation:
Shayamoya Lodge
Day 7

After a full breakfast out on the deck of the lodge, we make our way inland to the world renowned Kruger National Park. Enter the park just after lunch and have a game drive through the reserve in search of things great and small. After booking into your accommodation in the Park, take a late afternoon drive within the reserve as those big cats wake up for their evening hunt. Return to camp just before dark to freshen up before settling in around the campfire and sitting down to a traditional African bush braai (barbeque). End this exhilarating day around the campfire telling stories of the last few days, all under the careful watch of the African stars.
Accommodation:
You will be accommodated in traditional safaris tents on the banks of the Crocodile River. These tents are set permanently onto concrete slabs and give you the real bush feel in comfort and style.
Day 8

Wake up before sunrise to prepare for another game drive in the Park, watch as the sun peeks its head above the horizon and marvel at the unspoiled habitat as it unfolds before you. Return to camp a couple of hours later for a delicious bush breakfast in the shade of the acacia trees. Then cross the Crocodile River which forms the southern border of the park to play a round at either the prestigious Leopard Creek (extra charge) or Malelane golf courses. Return to camp to enjoy yet another traditional South African supper in the form of a ‘Pooitjie. This way of cooking in a cast iron pot using coal, was used by the explorers of the 18th century, or ‘Voortrekkers’ (forward-walkers).
Day 9

By now you will be a seasoned game watcher! Wake yet again at the crack of dawn for something special on this day. After making your way north through the park and exploring some new habitats and scenery, you will arrive at Skukuza Rest camp. Here you will play Skukuza Golf course, not the greatest in the world but definitely the most unique. It is set amidst Africa at its wildest; encounters with hippo, antelope and other animals are very common because there are no fences between the players and the wildlife………… You now return to camp for your final evening under the stars, enjoy another bush supper as you unwind and reflect on the days gone past.
Day 10

Have one last fry up at your camp and then prepare to leave for JHB International Airport. Have a short drive through the park towards the exit gate and catch one last look at the beauty of Africa. Once you have exited the park you will drive 4 hours to JHB to catch your return flight home.
