Day 1

We transfer you from the airport to Pennington on the south coast of Kwa Zulu Natal, a sleepy coastal village that comes alive during the holiday season. Settle in and relax, visit the beach for your first African sunset, followed by a welcome dinner back at the lodge.
Accommodation:
You will be accommodated at Vulamanzi lodge. Situated a hundred meters from the beach, these wooden bungalows are very comfortable and provide the perfect base to start your African adventure.

Day 2

Wake up to the smell and sounds of a sizzling breakfast as you prepare for a trip to the Oribi Gorge. Oribi Gorge which is approximately 27 km long, 4 km wide (widest point) and 400 m deep. This is round about where you will hurl yourself over the edge suspended by a cable as you accelerate to 100km/h in just 7 seconds! The bridge swing for the adrenaline junkies is the highest commercial one of its kind in the world! We realize this sort of thing is not for everybody and this activity can be substituted for a day at the beach where we teach you how to surf.
That evening we’ll take you out in the town to eat and drink with the locals and really get a feel for the South African way of life. (Own account)

Day 3

Sani Pass tour:
It’s an early rise as we travel 2 hours in-land to the base of the Drakensberg mountain range, a world heritage site. Here we hand you over to the professionals who will transport you in a 4 by 4 to the top of the range and into the country of Lesotho. Here you will visit a traditional Basotho homestead where you can share some home brewed beer and baked bread with the locals. Before you descend back into SA, you’ll have lunch at the top of the pass in the highest pub in Africa.

We return to the coast and have a light supper, and then it’s wise to get some rest as tomorrow the travelling begins.

Day 4

Cape Vidal:
Dive to Cape Vidal reserve, it’s about a three hour drive north and is situated in the St. Lucia wetland reserve, your second world heritage site to visit. This protected area is not only a land reserve, but the coastline and the waters 1.5 km out to sea are also a protected marine reserve. That afternoon we take a game drive around the reserve, there are many different animal species represented in the reserve including rhino and hippo. We end the day with sundowners at the boardwalk over-looking the Estuary.

Accommodation is in the form of log cabins, a stone’s throw from the unspoilt beaches of Cape Vidal.

Day 5

Sodwana Bay:
We first take a small hike along the un-spoilt beaches at Cape Vidal and then return to a breakfast served on the beach, after which you may relax, swim or snorkel before we have to leave.
We transfer you a couple of hours north to Sodwana Bay, settle in and then make our way down to the beach for sundowners.
Accommodation:
You’ll be accommodated at Coral dive resort, again comfortable log cabins will be your accommodation in amongst the sand dunes.

Day 6
Sodwana Bay:
There are a range of activities to choose from; horse riding, quad biking and scuba diving or you could just relax on the beach. That afternoon we travel in 4 by 4’s to Lake Sibya, where we can have snacks and sundowners and soak up the African vibe!

Day 7

Ponta do Oura:
Today we travel across the border into the third country you will visit, Mozambique. Make your way to Ponta do Oura point, translated to ‘point of gold’. White sand beaches and crystal blue waters await you as you move into another world.
No set activities for this afternoon; explore the coast line in the form of a beach walk or simply soak up the sun.
Accommodation:
The Whaler beach camp is perfectly situated just meters from the beach. Rustic reed huts give you the real Mozambique feel.

Day 8

Ponta:
Have the day at your leisure, if you have your diving qualification we can organise a dive for you or choose between the many activities on offer. Horse riding, quad biking and surfing just to name a few.

Day 9
Tofo:
We leave Ponta and make our way further north to Tofo point. It’s a full day’s travel over rough terrain to your accommodation in Tofo. The pace is slow, giving you time to take in your surroundings and get a feel for the Africa few tourist get to experience.

Casa de Mosa in Tofo is a spacious guest house with spectacular ocean views, where relaxation is a way of life.

Day 10-11

Tofo:
We tone it down for the following 2 days giving you a chance to absorb the experience.
Participate in diving, horse riding, fishing, hiking and exploring.
Visit some villages in Mozambique and get a feel for the true African culture.
Eat fresh fish and enjoy some outdoor living.

Day 12-15

Kruger National Park:
On day 12 we leave Mozambique and travel back into South Africa, we enter the famous Kruger National Park and spend our first night on the banks of the Crocodile River. The following morning we leave at sunrise and make our way to the central section of the park where we meet up with the team from Mopaya Safari Lodge. This unique lodge has special traversing rights within the Kruger that allows them to go off the beaten track and use roads that no other tourists are allowed to use, giving you a truly exclusive experience.
We’ll spend the following 2 days with them, searching for the BIG 5 and participating in many other adventures in this wilderness area.

You will be accommodated in luxury safari tents and enjoy bush dinners under the stars and spend hours around the camp fire telling tales of Africa.

Day 16
We say a fond farewell to the African bush and make our way to JHB International airport to catch your flight home.
