Having recently spent 35 days in South Africa mostly on business but also on pleasure, I used Endless Summer Tours extensively. In my business as a writer for a daily newspaper, reliability and punctuality are a necessity. Being new to the country, having someone who has extensive knowledge of the area is also a must. The operators of Endless Summer Tours exceeded expectations. Not only did they allow me to travel with peace of mind, they were affordable and flexible. If you are traveling in the Durban area, do yourself a favour and use Endless Summer Tours. It will make your trip less stressful and more enjoyable.

Zingela River Safaris

zingela camp

Join the Zingela team on the banks of the mighty Tugela River in KZN. Tucked away in a wilderness area, far from any civilization, you’ll find the Zingela River Safaris. You’ll spend 3 days in this spectacular setting, rafting, hiking and abseiling. Ending the trip with an amazing quad bike ride back to the land of the living! This is real adventure…

Day 1

Zingela meerkat

Meet in the small town of Weenen at 12pm to be transported in 4 by 4 over the mountains and into the Tugela River valley. On arrival enjoy a bush lunch on the banks of the river, with the birds and meerkats as your hosts. After settling into your stylish accommodation embark on a hike up onto the cliffs over looking the valley. From here you will have a spectacular view of your surroundings and hopefully catch a glimpse of some giraffe or kudu. Watch the sunset in absolute silence! Dinner will be served back at the lodge and usually consists of some game meat and other treats. After which settle in around the camp fire, while a million stars hover above!

Accommodation:
Your accommodation is truly unique, river sand and stone have been used to keep it natural, with no two rooms the same. Canvas sides and out door showers get you back to nature, you’ve never seen anything like it. Yet it still oozes of luxury and comfort!

Day 2

Zingela rafting

Wake relatively early and enjoy an outdoor breakfast as the sun rises and warms the valley. After breakfast you have the choice to either do a zip-slide or go abseiling, it all depends on how brave you are feeling. Zingela brings a good mixture of action and relaxation, so spend the rest of the morning chilling and then take a hearty lunch. Now it’s time for some rafting! spend the afternoon learning the ropes and then do a run down the mighty Tugela, depending on the season this could be a adrenaline packed experince or a leisurely paddle. Once again enjoy a wonderfull meal in the outdoor dinning room and chat around the camp fire afterwards, as the sound of the river soothes your soul…

Day 3

Zingela fishing

Wake at your leisure, enjoy a quiet walk along the river or relax in the morning sun. Have your last breakfast out on the banks, whilst the warthog and birds keep an eye on you. Zingela is one big family, from the bushpigs to the guides, to  Linda & Mark the owners, and now you will feel a part of it too! Say your good byes to your new family and hop onto the quadbikes. It’s a 2 hour quad ride through the mountains and wilderness, before arriving back in Weenen…
